Responsibilities
  • Teach the required skills in the assigned teacher areas in connection with district and state guidelines using district provided curriculum resources.
  • Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
  • Prepare appropriate weekly and daily lesson plans to be adjusted as necessary.
  • Individualize course material as needed to accommodate the wide range of abilities.
  • Provide students with clearly stated learning targets and success criteria that demonstrate how a student is going to be assessed and graded.
  • Assess the students on a regular basis, adjust lessons based on formative feedback and provide progress reports as required.
  • Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
  • Maintain accurate, complete and timely records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.
  • Collaborate regularly with all other members of the educational community.
  • Make provisions for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms.
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in professional growth activities (staff development, graduate work, involvement in professional organizations, conferences, etc.)
  • Actively participate in school-wide and district-wide initiatives.
  • Strive to maintain and improve professional competence.
  • Maintain proper professional conduct.
  • Regular attendance is an essential part of employment.
  • Perform other duties deemed appropriate by the building administrator.
