Description Classification: Intern, Part-Time, 20 hrs/wk, Non-Exempt, 1-year commitment Ministry Area: Next Gen – High School Ministry Location: Chanhassen Reports to: Dan Johnson Westwood’s Way of Life: Be and love like Jesus Westwood’s Heartbeat: To know God and share Jesus through loving others here, near, and far Ministry Area Purpose: High School Ministry exists to equip high school students to be lifelong followers of Jesus by creating a space where they belong and have ownership, partnering with their families, and teaching them that they are loved by God, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and called to share Jesus with the world around them. Role: Intentionally invest in gaining experience and knowledge for professional, personal, and spiritual development within High School Ministry Responsibilities: Assist in program and vision implementation Assist in planning and executing program events, camps, and retreats Attend team meetings when available Be a part of HSM ministry on Wednesday nights Assist in leading and training HSM volunteer team on Wednesday nights Opportunity to speak and teach on Wednesday night/ Sunday morning Carry out other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor Align to and live out the Westwood Staff Values: Head High, Heart Soft, Arms Linked, Feet Forward Requirements Someone who lives a life that honors God in heart, actions, and relationships, with the goal of becoming more like Jesus A posture of teachability and adaptability Proficient with Microsoft Office tools Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Skills in conflict resolution Ability to meet deadlines and work with a team Endorse and support Westwood’s Statement of Faith Agreement with Westwood's vision, values, and beliefs Pursuing membership at Westwood Community Church Endorse and support Westwood’s Statement of Faith Someone who lives a life that honors God in heart, actions, and relationships, with the goal of becoming more like Jesus Participate in required team events: Orientation (September 8th, 2026) and Intensives (October 26-28th, 2026 and April 5-7th, 2027)
Responsibilities
The intern will assist in the implementation and execution of High School Ministry events, camps, and retreats. They will also support the leadership and training of the volunteer team and participate in weekly ministry activities.
