Founded in 2011, Meridian School is a public, tuition-free charter school open to all students living in Williamson County. Job Description

  • Work to create a pleasant, helpful atmosphere for staff, students, parents and visitors.
  • Works closely with the registrar on various tasks.
  • Maintain confidentiality in regards to sensitive information involving staff, students, parents.
  • Manage various tasks in a high paced environment where there can be many interruptions (phones, visitors) to the flow of work.
  • Maintain open communication with other office staff and admin in regards to concerns and/or ideas for improving work processes.

Reception Tasks

  • Greet all visitors to enter the high school building in a friendly manner, assess their needs, and provide assistance accordingly.
  • Ensure that visitors do not proceed beyond the red door without a Raptor security badge.
  • Answer high school office phone, answer questions, take messages, and route calls as needed.
  • Support with safety drills.

Attendance Clerk Tasks

  • Make daily announcement at 9:30am to remind teachers to post attendance.
  • Make daily announcement regarding showing the Daily Announcement Slides.
  • Remind teachers who have not posted attendance by 9:30 am to do so.
  • Alert admin of teachers who are not consistent with daily attendance reporting.
  • Work with admin to input accurate attendance for students on OCLE trips.
  • Oversees student sign in/sign out process and maintains records of student absences/tardies.
  • Enters all student attendance records into school management system on a daily basis.
  • Prepare all attendance reports/summary on daily or various frequencies.
  • Determine whether absence is excused or unexcused and note on school management software.
  • File attendance folders.
  • Assist with VOE forms.

Substitute Coordinator Tasks

  • Be willing to share personal cell number with high school building teachers for the purpose of text communication regarding absences.
  • Arrival is 7:30am daily; first priority is ensuring all classes are covered and substitutes have access to sub plans.
  • Assist with scheduling of embedded subs.
  • Other logistical/communication tasks related to sub coordination/class coverage.

Other Special Knowledge/Skills

  • Work with various spreadsheets, reports, databases (Google suite and Skyward SMS).
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions, simple correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from administrators, teachers, students and parents.
  • Ability to operate personal computers, related software, and standard office equipment.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community.
  • Makes and receives telephone calls, takes messages and routes calls.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers and others.
  • Accept and be responsible for delivery or personal belongings. brought to students by parents.
  • May occasionally supervise students.
  • Willingness to collaborate regularly with colleagues in a positive, constructive manner.
  • Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the campus principal.

Qualifications Education/Certification

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience

  • At least two years of office experience is preferred, but not required.

Work Environment
This position will operate in a professional, non-smoking office environment, which at times can be busy with moderate noise and many unscheduled interruptions. This role will routinely use standard office equipment such as computers and peripherals, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.
