Description

Amberson High School is an Ontario Ministry of Education inspected private high school located in Markham ON that offers grades 9-12 credit courses towards the OSSD. We are currently recruiting qualified teachers for the 2025-2026 school year.
We are currently hiring for full-time Social Sciences/Humanities teachers for the instruction of grades 9-12 math and science courses. Please indicate which courses you are qualified and/or comfortable teaching.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Familiar with the Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum and Growing Success documents
  • Flexible schedule
  • Organize and maintain records of assessments according to ministry and school policy requirements
  • Proficient computing skills are necessary
  • Experience working with ESL and ELL students an asset
  • Effective management strategies with international students
  • Experience with online learning management systems such as D2L Brightspace is an asset
  • Experience with Maplewood ConnectEd/Edsembli is an asset
  • A positive attitude and teamwork are always an asset!

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, unit plans, course resources, assessment, and evaluations in accordance with the Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum and Growing Success documents
  • Maintain records of students assessments and evaluations
  • Ensure the use of effective classroom management strategies
  • Support ESL and ELL students
  • Cooperate with other departments to provide a safe and engaging learning environment for students
