Reports To: Associate Principal Purpose of Role: To grow the physical ability, fitness and health of SPARK high school scholars through the creation of rigorous physical education programmes. Responsibilities: Sports Planning & Administration Review and plan the coaching timetable. Manage communication with parents regarding sports events and activities. Plan and manage the annual sports awards programme. Register teams for leagues, tournaments, galas and competitions based on district fixtures. Compile and communicate fixture timetables based on weekly planners. Capture and communicate results; maintain updated files per sporting code. Organise and maintain the sports storeroom. Compile annual and termly sports reports. Create termly sporting calendars. Lead scholar social and emotional development through CQ (Character Quotient) sessions and reflections. Communicate professionally and effectively with colleagues, parents and other stakeholders. Conduct self in a professional manner at all SPARK Schools events and to all stakeholders. Nurture a high ­achieving work environment where all scholars feel genuinely valued and supported. Promote the vision and mission of SPARK Schools to staff, scholars, families, and the greater community. Implement strategies implemented by the Crisis Management team. Adhere to the child protection, anti-bullying and health and safety policy. Coaching, Training & Health and Safety Officiate at sports matches as required. Ensure compliance with all health and safety policies. Physical Education Programme Plan and implement PE programmes across relevant grades. Develop sport-specific PE assessments and rubrics. Review assessments to identify emerging talent and support learners’ sporting growth. Sports Events & Tours Plan, coordinate and manage sports events, tours, and camps (Place Based Learning). Allocate teams and staffing on the day of events. Assign scholar helpers and support roles. Manage return slips and confirmations for matches. Arrange substitutes and replacements when required. Oversee the running of sports events including scheduling, announcements, and programme management. Coordinate catering orders for coaches, parents, and learners. Qualifications and Criteria: The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and criteria: Grade 12 Certificate Degree/NQF Level 6 in Human Movement or Sport Science SACE Registered Clear criminal record At least 2 years coaching a sport Qualities: Grit: Persistence through challenges.
