JOB SUMMARY

Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug Education Authority (KEA) is hiring qualified, in-person High School Teachers for Aglace Chapman Education Centre in Big Trout Lake, an Oji-Cree community accessible by air from Sioux Lookout or Thunder Bay.
Subject Areas Needed

We are seeking in-person high school teachers for the following subjects:

  • Math (Grades 9–12)
  • Science (Grades 9–12)
  • Physical Education (Grades 9–12)
  • Native Language (Grades 9–12)
  • Drama (Grades 9–12) — This role will play an integral part in extra-curricular activities

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Education and Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certificate (Intermediate/Senior) with subject specialist qualifications.
  • Experience teaching specified high school subjects; knowledge of Indigenous contexts or a willingness to learn is an asset.
  • Strong classroom management skills and commitment to equity and student success.
  • Proficiency with technology and digital teaching tools.
  • Ability to obtain a clear Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check.
