Description Gilbert Christian Schools is accepting applications for a High School Vice Principal for the 2026-27 school year. The Vice Principal is appointed to assist in the leadership of the high school campus at Gilbert Christian Schools (GCS). The focus of the position is responsible for cultivating and overseeing a positive student body environment and culture (spiritual, intellectual, ethical, behavioral). Leadership Have the ability to accomplish the goals and objectives assigned by the High School Principal, Superintendent and school policy Develop leadership capacity among the members of your staff Assist the staff, students, parents and volunteers to function efficiently, effectively, and productively Understand supervision and how to lead in a positive manner Provide an excellent learning environment by promoting Godly student behavior Serve the team by faithfully contributing and being willing to serve your Principal, staff, teachers, students, and families Assist with the hiring of qualified teachers and staff Maintain a physical presence with the students by attending and, when possible, participating in school chapels, assemblies, athletics events, and other presentations Assist with beginning-of-year staff orientation, staff devotionals, and staff meetings Respect professional ethics that require confidentiality concerning the sharing of information about children, parents, or staff. Speak with honor and respect of children, parents and GCS staff Know the procedures for dealing with emergency situations in the classroom and school Inform the Principal in a timely manner if unable to fulfill any assigned duty Deal directly and frankly with the Principal in an earnest effort to resolve differences of opinion when they exist Communicate with parents Other duties as assigned Students Build relationships with students and recognize positive behavior among the student body. Correct negative trends, and inspire a positive culture within the GCHS student body. Monitor that students abide by the behavioral policies set forth in the Student Handbook. Meet with students and parents when necessary in regards to behavioral, academic, and spiritual issues. Support behavioral, academic, extra curricular and spiritual formation of students Support community service efforts of students Acquire regular feedback from high school students Set and promote Biblical standards in regards to Christ-like behavior Work with student council director & advisor in regards to student council related events Faculty Communicate with the high school principal and faculty Work with the teachers and staff to address the academic, extra curricular behavioral, and spiritual formation needs of the students Have a thorough knowledge and understanding of the Christian philosophy of education that will provide leadership and guidance in the school’s commitment to a Biblical worldview Have knowledge of the school’s curriculum, standards, and mission Work closely with the high school Bible department to maintain alignment between what is taught in Bible class with all other activities associated with student spiritual formation Evaluate staff members for effective teaching strategies and content in the classroom Assist in oversight of curriculum review as needed Teach professional development as needed Community: Assist in developing opportunities for students to serve in the local community and kingdom at large Campus Culture: Contribute to building a positive culture for students and staff Contribute to an increase in student school spirit Personal Qualities Growing in his or her personal relationship with Christ. Must align with the vision and values of Gilbert Christian Schools and the Statement of Faith. Adhere to and encompass the qualities and characteristics required of Gilbert Christian Schools, students, employees, defined by the Employee Handbook. If the administrator has children of school age and they are not homeschooled by their spouse, it is expected they will attend GCS for the duration of their employment at GCS. Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, walk; use hands to finger handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to twenty-five pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Requirements Master’s Degree Experience working with high school students Leadership experience Three years of teaching experience Excellent communication skills Adaptable and able to work with a variety of people Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance (IVP) card
