Description Position Summary The High School Vice Principal supports the Principal in fostering a safe, orderly, and academically excellent learning environment. This role emphasizes student discipline, instructional support, faculty development, and operational leadership. The Vice Principal works collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and families to promote student success, uphold school values, and ensure compliance with academic and accreditation standards. Requirements Primary Responsibilities Student Discipline & School Culture ? Oversee and manage lower-level student discipline, including documentation and communication with students and families ? Assign and coordinate detentions and Saturday School ? Maintain discipline records and track behavior trends ? Promote restorative practices and a positive school culture ? Assist in developing and enforcing school policies and procedures Academic & Instructional Leadership ? Participate in classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to teachers ? Support the implementation of curriculum and instructional best practices ? Collaborate with department chairs and faculty to strengthen academic programs ? Assist in monitoring student academic progress and intervention strategies C. Faculty Support & Credentialing (ACSI) ? Oversee ACSI teacher certification tracking and credentialing requirements ? Support teachers in maintaining and updating ACSI Virtual Portfolios ? Coordinate and track ACSI-approved CEU coursework for faculty ? Ensure compliance with ACSI accreditation standards D. AP Program Administration ? Serve as the AP Administrator, including: o Managing AP Course Audit submissions o Registering new AP teachers with College Board accounts o Coordinating AP exam logistics and compliance o Facilitating teacher registration for AP Summer Institutes ? Act as liaison between the school and College Board E. Student Support Services ? Attend IEP and student support meetings as needed ? Develop and distribute student accommodation sheets for teachers ? Collaborate with counselors, teachers, and families to support diverse learning needs ? Ensure appropriate implementation of accommodations F. Student Life & Activities ? Provide guidance and oversight for student life programs ? Support the ASB/Leadership teacher in planning and executing school events ? Serve as a resource for student leadership development and campus engagement ? Promote a vibrant and inclusive school culture D. Operations & Administrative Duties ? Oversee and process billing for student accounts related to high school activities and events ? Assist with master schedule development and course offerings ? Support student supervision during arrival, lunch, passing periods, and dismissal ? Coordinate and assist with school safety procedures and emergency protocols ? Contribute to staff meetings, committees, and school-wide initiatives E. Family & Community Engagement ? Communicate regularly with parents regarding student behavior, progress, and school initiatives ? Participate in school events, parent meetings, and conferences ? Support recruitment, retention, and community-building efforts Additional Duties ? Assist with hiring, onboarding, and mentoring new staff ? Support accreditation processes and documentation ? Serve on leadership and strategic planning teams ? Serve as the California Scholarship Federation (CSF) Club Adviser, including overseeing membership eligibility, application review, chapter records, student communication, and coordination of CSF activities and recognition ? Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal Qualifications ? Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Educational Leadership or related field preferred ? Valid teaching credential (Administrative credential preferred or in progress) ? Experience in secondary education, preferably at the high school level ? Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills ? Familiarity with ACSI standards and College Board/AP programs preferred Key Competencies ? Leadership and decision-making ?
