JOB SUMMARY
The NHS Blood and Transplant is an integral part of the NHS. Operating a network of center’s across England, we collect around 2 million units of blood and tissues a year, converting them into safe and effective blood components, blood and tissue products for use in the treatment of patients.
You will handle a wide range of tasks, including the processing and issuing of blood products and monitoring of storage equipment. You will have responsibility for ensuring that any incoming blood products are properly received and accounted for. In addition, a portion of your time will be performing general administration tasks for the department and includes the use of Microsoft office applications.
To be considered you’ll need an A level or NVQ level 3 or equivalent, or extensive experience working in a logistics/supply chain environment, or of working within an NHSBT or hospital laboratory. Flexible in your approach and a good team player, you must be able to keep clear and accurate records.
