HIGHER LEVEL TEACHING ASSISTANT (HLTA) – PRIMARY

Location: Workington, Cumbria
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-Time | Term Time Only
Pay: £14.40 – £16.10 per hour (based on experience)
A friendly and inclusive primary school in Workington is looking to welcome a qualified and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to their team from September 2025. This is a full-time, term-time only role offering a varied and rewarding opportunity to support pupils across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

REQUIREMENTS

• Right to work in the UK
• Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to apply – support provided)
• Up-to-date CV detailing relevant experience and qualifications

As an HLTA, you’ll play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school. Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering pre-planned lessons during PPA (Planning, Preparation & Assessment) time
• Providing in-class support, including targeted interventions for individuals and small groups
• Supporting pupils’ academic progress and emotional wellbeing
• Collaborating with teachers and support staff to create a positive learning environment
• Assisting with planning, assessment, and classroom organisation as needed
