Responsibilities

Higher Level Teaching Assistants play an important role in creating a positive learning environment for our students. Working under the supervision of a teacher, a Higher Level Teaching Assistant may work with children on an individual basis, in small groups or with a whole class to embed day-to-day learning. Higher Level Teaching Assistants also contribute to monitoring the progress of students and provide feedback to support the teacher in providing a more individualised approach to learning. The start date for this position is Mid August 2025.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A minimum of a high school diploma level education
  • A minimum of 2-years experience working in a similar position
  • A sound understanding of teaching best practice
  • High level of fluency in written and spoken English
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students and parents
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • High level of international and inter-cultural understanding
  • An understanding of the British curriculum would be advantageous
  • Experience working with EAL Students
  • Experience working with SEN Students

Additional Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide support, coaching and mentoring for TAs as appropriate
  • Plan and prepare resources for intervention groups within year group
  • Take responsibilities to organise and allocate resources
  • Work with year leader to organise lunch/break duties
  • Support inclusion team with interventions across Primary
  • Support with whole school activities
  • Collaborate to run training for TAs
  • Provide additional support to class with new students
  • Plan and source resources for upcoming EAP activities

Ideally, candidates will already be based in the UAE.
