HIGHLY EXPERIENCE LSA (LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT )

Location : Reem Island, Abu Dhabi
Start Date : 25th August 2025

Salary : 10,000 - 12,000 AED per month.

A warm, forward-thinking family in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to work 1:1 with their 6-year-old son, who has been diagnosed with dyspraxia. He will be entering Year 2 at a leading international school, and the LSA will play a key role in supporting his academic progress, confidence, and independence during the school day.
This is a full-time position ideal for someone who is emotionally intelligent, proactive, and committed to making a long-term impact in a child’s educational journey.
Important note:
The family do NOT want ABA strategies applied and do not want to hire any candidates who cannot work without ABA strategies.

Responsibilities :

  • Daily support and observations of the child.
  • Implement strategies and techniques to build the child’s independent skills, that are suitable for his needs.
  • Support with emotional and sensory regulation
  • Collaborate with class teacher, SENd department and OT when required to ensure techniques and strategies’ are suitable.
  • Ensure safety and wellness of child when in care of LSA.
  • Provide materials or activities for school activities that will optimize learning.
  • Advocating for child’s needs when required.
  • Work 1:1 with the child during school hours, offering learning and emotional support.
  • Implement tailored strategies based on his diagnosis and school support plans.
  • Support classroom routines, transitions, and task completion
  • Help regulate behaviour when appropriate, while promoting self-esteem and autonomy.
  • Maintain consistent and professional communication with parents
  • Liaise closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals involved in the child’s care.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience in a 1:1 or SEN (Special Educational Needs) support role
  • Qualifications in SEN (mandatory)
  • Understanding of or experience with dyspraxia or similar neurodevelopment conditions
  • Experience working in SEN department in school or equivalent.
  • Experience with collaborating with OT’s and other professionals.
  • A minimum of 2 professional references
  • Valid Police Clearance certificate
  • Available to start immediately.
  • Fluent English is a must.
