An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our organisation in a newly developed role and team as a Band 7 Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist for Children with Special Educational Needs (SEND) and Clinical Lead.

Working life
As a Highly Specialist Children’s Speech and Language Therapist, you’ll
Provide clinical leadership to a designated group of S’s
Independently manage a caseload of highly complex cases
Provide timely Sadvice, reports and programmes to be integrated within the child or young person’s daily curriculum
Utilise technology to enable you to update records as you go
The service aims to provide an excellent standard of care that supports patients across Northamptonshire. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support the service and balance clinical appointments with other responsibilities and allocate significant time for intervention in every role.
Must have skills
You will need to be adaptable and resourceful. You’ll need to be well organised, confident and able to cope in diverse situations to deliver patient care. Leadership and management skills are also important, as with all nursing roles, communication skills, problem solving and good judgement are crucial.
You will have an induction period with shadowing and joint sessions, as well as regular peer group supervisions if applicable.
