To be the named lead for, and to provide a highly specialist dietetic service to children referred to the Tameside Paediatric Dietetic service for home enteral feeding and diabetes. To undertake highly specialist assessments, diagnosis and treatment for children in these areas.
To work collaboratively with partner agencies and other health services.
To support other members of the paediatric dietetic team with clinical supervision and clinical leadership.
To be the named lead for two specialist areas of the service and to devise and implement appropriate clinical guidelines and patient pathways related to these areas. To contribute to the development of policies and procedures, which will impact on other professionals working in children’s services.
To be the main point of contact for professionals within these specialist areas.
To identify and undertake audits, research projects and quality improvement projects to enhance/improve clinical practice. To make recommendations to the Team Leader for changes to practice. Implement specific changes to practice where agreed with the Team Leader. To lead others in this work as agreed with the Team Leader.
To provide Dietetic assessment, diagnosis and treatment of children with diabetes and/or enteral feeding in a variety of settings including nurseries, schools, special schools, hospital, the child’s home, in dietetic clinics and MDT clinics, using a combination of face-to-face and virtual appointments.
To independently manage a caseload of clients, using evidence based/client-centered principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
