Goodhue County is actively recruiting qualified applicants for a Highway Equipment Operator located in the Cannon Falls shop of the Public Works department. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Snow plowing, ice control and sanding * Maintenance of bituminous road surfaces * Highway Right-of-Way maintenance * Preventative maintenance on trucks, equipment, buildings and grounds * Gravel road maintenance and bituminous highway shouldering For specific job duties and additional position information, please review the job description linked below. Minimum Qualifications High school education or equivalent and two or more years' experience in the operation of heavy equipment and/or a Technical College certification in equipment operation.   Class "A" Commercial Driver's License.  Salary & Benefits County employees receive competitive pay and a generous benefit offering. This position is compensated at a Grade 108 ($56,576 - $87,713) on the County pay scale with the starting compensation at  $27.20 - $28.56 per hour depending upon qualifications.   The County's comprehensive benefit package includes medical and dental insurance, health savings account, employer paid life insurance, short and long-term disability insurance, pre-tax flexible spending accounts, retirement plan, tax deferred compensation, generous vacation and sick leave as well as 13 paid holidays per year.
