Description The Highway Guardrail Foreman position requires performing a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, company policies and procedures and safety guidelines. Essential Job Functions: Includes, but is not limited to, the job specifications contained herein. Additional duties or job functions may be required as deemed necessary by management personnel to contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Supervises guardrail laborers. Reading of plans, specifications and schematics. Layout of Highway Guardrail. Handling and installing all of the materials for guardrail installation. Loading and unloading materials on a flat-bed truck and/or trailer by hand, digging holes, using power tools, etc. Operation of Post Pounder/Driver Truck. Desired Qualifications: 3-5 years guardrail installation Class A CDL preferred but not required Florida Advanced MOT Certification a plus What's In It For You? Vacation and PTO (paid time off) 401(k) plan + Company match Performance bonus Overtime Requirements Repeated physical effort including driving for several hours per day or several hours at a time, standing and walking for extended periods of time (more than several hours), loading and unloading equipment into and out of company vehicles, walking on varying ground surfaces and frequently lifting a minimum of 50 pounds Working from elevated platforms, ladders or truck beds Operating hand/power tools, manual dexterity to operate keyboards and smart phones, physical agility to use arms, legs and hands repetitively Working outdoors, working safely under adverse environmental and weather conditions which include high speed traffic areas, heavy construction equipment, fuel fumes and construction substances Comfortable around vehicles moving through work zones and maintaining constant awareness of surroundings on construction site including placement of machinery and equipment, other employees and construction activities Vision adequate to see moving vehicles, read highway construction MOT signs, read instructions, manuals, reports, and construction plans Hearing adequate to hear approaching vehicles, audible commands at a distance from supervisors, conversations in person, and over the telephone Communicating clearly - both written and verbally, ability to complete daily paperwork as required by supervisor Working a flexible schedule which can include day or night shifts, weekends and/or holidays, adjusting to a changing work schedule, working overtime and working individually and as a team with other employees Valid driver's license required, will require passing MVR and controlled substance test, may require background and criminal record check. Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations Must maintain company standards post-employment for background checks, criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing
