Description

Fowler is searching for licensed DZ or equivalent licensed drivers to operate tandem or triaxle snow plow, or combination plow/spreader units, for the winter season in the Powassan, Farley’s Corner and Sundridge areas.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have and maintain a valid DZ or equivalent driver’s license and clean CVOR.
  • OTM Book 7 Training is considered an asset.
  • Experience in highway maintenance and plowing is considered an asset.
  • A high commitment to personal safety and the safety of others.
  • Must be capable of self-loading the truck (training will be provided).
  • Strong work ethic, reliable and highly motivated.
  • Must be able to work with little supervision.
  • Be capable of communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing, in a prompt and courteous manner.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to stand, lift 50 lbs., carry, bend, reach, climb.

Responsibilities
  • Safely operate a spreader, plow wing, or combo unit for winter highway maintenance.
  • Perform pre-trip inspections, document fuel usage, and maintain accurate winter operations records.
  • Operate and maintain heavy equipment, including loaders, backhoes, and skid steers.
  • Use light-duty tools such as steamers, chainsaws, and gas-powered hand tools as required.
  • Conduct routine equipment maintenance and minor repairs as needed.
  • Follow all regulations, safety protocols, and contractual requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure efficient operations.
  • Report any incidents, accidents, or traffic violations immediately.
