37 hours per week
A number of vacancies have arisen for the posts of Roadworker 2 within Highways Direct Services. The successful applicants must hold a valid Driving licence which enables them to drive vans and trucks up to 3.5 ton. A sound knowledge of construction and Highways Maintenance works is preferred with some experience in these fields. Such as drainage systems, fencing, tarmac, kerbing, slabbing etc. Also have experience in using hand tools such as: Kerb-saw, Vibrating compaction plate, Strimmer, Hedge Cutter etc. The successful applicants must be willing to respond to emergency situations both during and out of hours. Must also be willing to participate in the emergency call out, and winter maintenance activities.
Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.
Standby Duties and Emergency Response & Winter Maintenance are a requirement of this post.
A Health Surveillance assessment through our Occupational Health Service is a requirement for this post.
