Position summary: Responsible for leading, overseeing, or performing engineering design using advanced knowledge of general engineering principles and practices to interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate assignments with limited supervision. Acts as a technical advisor and mentor to less experienced engineers.  Essential Functions and Responsibilities * Lead the design for multiple concurrent projects and tasks for your discipline. * Assist Project Manager with consultative services to the client by understanding client requirements, recommendations, and solutions to enhance client experience. * Attends client meetings or interviews in support of project manager. * Plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope. * Design projects using advanced discipline knowledge, client specifications and guidelines using design software and drawing tools. * Develop solutions to complex problems and share best practices/lessons learned on a wide scale (company, client, or industry) * Defining parameters, reviewing, and presenting alternative studies based on experience and advanced engineering knowledge. * Prepare or lead the preparation of engineering documents, technical reports, memos, etc. * Evaluate and collaborate on discipline’s workflow and standard operating procedures to increase efficiency. * Perform and check design computations. * Quality review of project design in accordance with the Project Management Plan. * Provide cross disciplinary and constructability reviews on complex projects. * Providing input to project manager and section head with scope development, work hours for tasks, and project schedule creation for discipline.  * Manage and lead work to meet provided project schedule and budget relevant to discipline. * Coordinate and collaborate with team members and other disciplines to ensure project completion by the defined deadline and established quality. * Delegate project work to design engineers, coordinate project requirements, and perform quality reviews. * Mentor and coach on technical knowledge to advance their skill development and advise on project design. * Actively participating and contributing (presenting, publishing papers, etc.)  in industry organizations, publications, and/or conversations.
