| Salary £31,067-£35,235 Per annum | Permanent, Full Time, 37 hours per week | Lancashire Highways | International Sponsorship – this role is not open to international sponsorship Highways Technician Countywide Maintenance – based at Cuerden Office Depot, Bamber Bridge, PR5 6BS (but you may be required to work at various locations throughout Lancashire). Lancashire Highways Service is responsible for the direct delivery of all highway related schemes across the County made up of 4'300 miles of road, 151'000 street lights and 2'955 bridges. We have an exciting opportunity for a Highways Technician; required to support the delivery of the highways maintenance function which is often complex in nature, politically sensitive and high profile. This is an opportunity to support the maintenance and enhancement of the highway network and provide long term benefits for residents, visitors and businesses in Lancashire. We are looking for someone ideally with an ONC (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related field although this is not essential. Crucially we are looking for someone with significant experience of working within the traffic or highway engineering fields, preferably with specific experience of delivering highways maintenance functions. The role also requires the supervision of small schemes and works to ensure all activities are delivered on time and within budget. You must have a full and valid driving licence as you will be required to drive a Lancashire County Council vehicle.
