Description Location: Monticello, Illinois Shift: Day shift Schedule: FT 40 hours Job Summary: Under direction of HIM Director, oversees coders and provides technical expertise of coding. Coordinates coding and mentors and trains new coding staff. Adheres to all duties of a certified coder. Benefits: 40 hours PTO effective date of hire Health, Dental, Vision and Life insurance effective date of hire Generous 401(k) match effective after 90 days Quality/Goal incentive annually Free Wellness Program Requirements Regulatory Requirements: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented HIM Coding Lead to oversee and manage our coding teams (diagnosis and procedure coding). The ideal candidate will have: Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field or three years of related experience. Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC), required. Certification must be current. Strong background of diagnoses/procedures in accordance with ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, HCPCS coding principles for Critical Access Hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, professional E&M levels, and Rural Health Clinic. Proven track record of achieving and maintaining a 95% coding accuracy rate. Ability to work with physicians in a collaborative manner. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and ability to control demeanor in challenging situations. Responsibilities
