Job Description
Miku Toronto is looking to grow our team with passionate and dedicated individuals who are committed to working in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Reporting to the Chef de cuisine, prepares, and creates innovative and signature sushi dishes served at Miku.
Responsibilities
Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
Responsible for ensuring food and safety protocol is met
Stock and maintain sufficient levels of prep at all times to ensure a smooth service flow
Ensuring quality checks of dishes are up to restaurant standard
Maintaining a clean and sanitary workstation including the line station, preparation area and refrigeration equipment
Comply with sanitation regulations and safety standards
Maintain a positive and professional work environment
Washings trays, containers and appliances as needed
Help other station while its operation is needed
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum 3-year sashimi and nigiri experience is required
Knowledge of fish, preferrably in Japanese term
Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
Experience in Japanese cuisine is an asset but not required
Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
A passion for Japanese and Asian culinary art and flavors
