Responsibilities include: • Performing respiratory therapy treatments including oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments, chest physiotherapy, and suctioning • Managing and monitoring mechanical ventilators, including troubleshooting and adjusting settings as appropriate • Assisting with emergency interventions, code responses, and manual resuscitation • Obtaining and interpreting arterial blood gases and communicating results to the healthcare team • Conducting pulmonary function testing and 12-lead EKGs • Recognizing and reporting life-threatening arrhythmias and changes in patient condition • Maintaining respiratory therapy equipment and ensuring compliance with infection control standards • Accurately documenting patient care, interventions, and outcomes • Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient care Why SageWest? Required Graduate of a two-year AMA-approved Respiratory Therapy program Current state license or certification as a Respiratory Care Practitioner Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the NBRC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within facility-required timeframe Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within facility-required timeframe Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications, as required by facility policy Preferred Experience in an acute care or clinical setting Strong critical thinking, communication, and clinical assessment skills Ability to work independently and effectively in high-acuity environments Your skills are needed.
