QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Must be able to prepare tissue specimens of a quality that can be diagnosed by a pathologist

Preferred:

• 1-2 years of experience in a histology lab or clinical rotation
• Associate or Bachelor degree in Histolotechnology, Biology, or related life sciences

SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS:

• Shift working, 3-11pm, shift may vary
• Must be able to cover every other weekend and Holidays as needed
• Per Diem (PD)

• Receive, log, and accession tissue specimens from surgical, and diagnostic cases
• Embed tissue samples in paraffin blocks and section them using microtomes
• Perform routine and special staining techniques-such as H and E
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment including tissue processors, stainers, slide, and cassette printer
• Ensure proper labeling and documentation of all specimens and slides
