Description At San Francisco University High School, we believe that the deepest learning requires collaboration among people who embody a diversity of backgrounds, beliefs, experiences, and perspectives. In order to build and sustain a community that is comprised of a wide range of social and cultural identities, we must continually engage in furthering our self-knowledge, equity literacy, and ability to communicate effectively across differences. We challenge ourselves to do this work on both a personal and institutional level, recognizing that our community is part of a larger and more complex world. We are seeking a history instructor from January 7, 2025 to June 15, 2025 to teach three sections of our Honors US History class. This candidate will also have the opportunity to be considered for a full-time position beginning in the fall of 2026. They should be comfortable teaching the second half of a US survey, from roughly Reconstruction onward, and emphasizing research and writing. Candidates should also have experience talking about race and identity and reflecting on the impact of their own identity on their teaching. Candidates should be prepared to teach their own courses while also demonstrating the capacity for collaboration with a teaching team and aligning with existing curriculum. Requirements San Francisco University High School is a college preparatory school.
