Snapshot of Daily Duties Precisely and accurately perform a variety of routine and specialized histology techniques and procedures, including specimen accessioning, grossing (prosecting), tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, performing special stains, operating H&E autostainer, and operating instrumentation for immunohistochemical stains. Receive and accession tissue specimens and prepares specimens processing. Cut thin sections and stains according to established procedure for routine and special stains. Assist with stains slides for microscopic examination by the Pathologist. Assist Pathologists with grossing as required. The Must Haves Associate of science or 60 semester hours with combined hours in science Functioning knowledge of anatomy, chemistry, physiology, and experience in enzymes, histo-chemistry and immunoperoxidase stains required. HT(ASCP) certification required or registry eligible. Two (2) years experience in an accredited anatomic pathology and cytology laboratory.
