Histotechnologist Apprentice at Providence Portland Medical Center, Portland, OR Full-Time/Variable Shift The histology laboratory contributes a valuable service aiding pathologists in providing patient diagnoses. Information gained through microscopic evaluation of tissue slides prepared by histology technicians allows a pathologist to either identify or dismiss disease. Required Qualifications: Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited college/university, with a combination of 12 semester hours (18 quarter hours) of biology and chemistry (must include credit hours in both). 1 year of full time experience as a Senior Lab Assistant in Histology at Providence, or 2 years of full time experience as a Lab Assistant or above at Providence, or 3 years of full time experience in a clinical laboratory role at an external institution.
