I am in the initial stages of recruiting a HIV coordinator for a non-profit organization located in Downtown Indianapolis. Would you be available to talk? Below I have included the job description. Client Information- A respected non-profit organization based in Indianapolis, renowned for its commitment to uplifting and empowering marginalized communities. The organization is focused on fostering social and economic equality, with a special emphasis on African Americans and other disadvantaged groups. Job Summary- The HIV Coordinator is part of the special population support program team responsible for conducting outreach and testing to small and large groups containing individuals at risk for HIV infection and substance abuse. Job Duties Conduct educational sessions on HIV prevention, covering topics such as PrEP, PEP/PEPSE, and TasP. Perform blood tests for HIV, Syphilis, Hepatitis C, and urine tests for Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, and Trichomoniasis. Provide counseling through certified HIV testing counselors who are skilled in risk assessments and pre-and post-test counseling, with a focus on populations using substances. Educate patients about disease processes, medications, methods for improving medication adherence, and available community resources. Establish strong relationships with diverse providers across the care continuum to ensure effective patient management. Develop, monitor, and update individualized care plans in accordance with program guidelines. Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Skills and Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in public health, social work or related field preferred but not required. Experience in HIV prevention, education, or a related healthcare field. Strong knowledge of HIV/AIDS, prevention strategies, and current treatment options. Valid Driver License and reliable transportation Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with all federal and state HIPAA laws and regulations. Proficiency in oral and written communication skills, including the use of phones, in-person assistance, computers, fax machines, and other office machinery. Computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office suite; databases Starting pay: $42,000 to $45,000, competitive health insurance. Hours: M-F day shift
