HOH-Cook Reports To: Kitchen Manager/General Manager/Kitchen Lead Classification: Hourly Non-Exempt Supervises: None Full Benefits: Available after 1 year with qualifying minimum hours worked.   Position Summary: Accurately and efficiently cook meats, fish, vegetables, soups and other hot food products as well as prepare and portion food products prior to cooking. Also perform other duties in the areas of food and final plate preparation including plating and garnishing of cooked items and preparing appropriate garnishes for all hot and cold menu item plates. Our HOH team-members will also practice TEAMWORK on a daily basis to ensure a respectful and productive kitchen.   Duties & Responsibilities: Refer to Daily Prep List at the start of each shift for assigned duties. Knows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures. Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period. Maintains a clean and sanitary work station area. Possess full understanding of health code standards and safe food-handling procedures. Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes. Handles, stores and rotates all products properly. Use our Standard Recipe book for preparing all products. Maintain proper cooling charts and labeling of prepped foods according to restaurant standards. Understand our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures. Closes the kitchen. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or manager-on-duty. Clear tables after guests leave. Maintain bus-tubs, glass racks, and restock all glassware as needed. Carry service trays and deliver food to tables/multiple tables in one trip. Inspect assigned restroom and clean as needed every 30 minutes. Maintain the floor, vestibule and outside areas with constant spot sweeps. Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, silverware, glassware, maintains all restaurant equipment as directed   Knowledge and Skill Requirements: At least 6 months experience in a similar job capacity preferred. Must be able to communicate clearly with managers and kitchen and dining room personnel. Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift-up to 40 pounds.
