Key Responsibilities

  • Personal Care: Assist with daily tasks such as grooming, bathing, dressing, and hygiene to ensure clients’ comfort, dignity, and well-being. (Cert III in Individual Support required)
  • Household Assistance: Support clients with cleaning, meal preparation, and general household tasks to maintain a safe and tidy living environment.
  • Transportation: Drive clients to medical appointments, shopping, and social activities, ensuring they can access essential services and maintain their independence.
  • Social Engagement: Foster social interaction and provide companionship, offering emotional support to improve clients’ quality of life and overall well-being.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

Essential Skills

  • Effective communication skills
  • Demonstrate an empathic and caring approach
  • Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team
  • Access to own fully maintained and insured vehicle
  • Ability to plan and organise timely completion of tasks.
  • Competent to use a smartphone and/or tablet or willingness to learn
  • Physical fitness including ability to undertake manual handling, carrying, standing and sitting for long periods of time

Qualifications

  • Qualified Home Care Employee - Certificate III Individual Support or equivalent
  • Domestic Assistant roles available for those currently studying, or those who are passionate about supporting the elderly with their domestic household duties.
  • Current First Aid Certificate and CPR or willingness to obtain
  • Current unrestricted Australian Driver’s License
