We're Hiring: Support Workers – New SIL Home Opening in Morayfield

Real Community Services (RCS) is pleased to announce the opening of a new Supported Independent Living (SIL) home in Morayfield. We are seeking compassionate, professional, and values-driven Support Workers who are passionate about delivering high-quality psychosocial and person-centred support.

The successful team will play a vital role in supporting a participant to build confidence, develop life skills, and achieve their individual goals in a safe and empowering setting.


About the Role

As a Support Worker, you will provide tailored support that fosters independence, emotional wellbeing, and community inclusion. Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting social and community participation
  • Assisting with appointments and daily activities
  • Meal planning, preparation, and healthy living skills
  • Household tasks and maintaining a comfortable home environment
  • Encouraging routine, structure, and skill development
  • Providing emotional support, encouragement, and strengths-based coaching
  • Using positive behaviour support strategies and therapeutic communication approaches
  • Promoting independence, choice, dignity, and self-determination
  • Building trusting, professional relationships that support positive psychosocial outcomes

  • Demonstrate empathy, professionalism, and emotional maturity
  • Communicate respectfully and effectively in a calm and supportive manner
  • Understand the importance of recovery-oriented practice
  • Can build trust and positive therapeutic relationships over time
  • Support individuals to develop confidence, resilience, and independence
  • Respect participant rights, privacy, and individual choice
  • Follow support plans and work collaboratively with participants, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Remain consistent, patient, and solutions-focused when supporting complex needs

Preferred Experience and Attributes

  • Experience supporting people with psychosocial disability, or complex support needs (highly regarded)
  • Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Professional presentation and reliability
  • Ability to work within structured routines while remaining flexible and responsive to individual needs
  • Commitment to maintaining a healthy, safe, and respectful home environment
  • Willingness to wear the RCS uniform and represent the organisation professionally
