SKILLS

  • First aid certification is preferred.

  • Knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, and hospice care practices is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and patient care protocols is essential.
  • Previous experience in home care or assisted living environments is an advantage.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective interaction with clients and families.
  • Ability to develop and implement care plans tailored to individual needs.

Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care assistance to clients, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Administer medication as prescribed and ensure adherence to care plans.
  • Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients.
  • Support clients with mobility and physical activities, including heavy lifting when necessary.
  • Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient care and report any changes in condition to the healthcare team.
  • Assist with behaviour management and case management as required.
  • Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a trusting relationship.
  • Drive clients to appointments or social activities as needed.
