Description The Home Equity Team Lead is responsible for coordinating the efforts of the Home Equity team with the VP Consumer Lending. This team member will assist and lead complex member issues within the Credit Union. The Home Equity Team Lead is responsible for providing professional service to our membership by presenting information and referring products and services in a pleasant and efficient manner. This position also assists the VP Consumer Lending in maintaining a capable team, including training and scheduling. Essential Duties and Responsibilities – Other duties may be assigned: Coordinates the workflow of Home Equity loan applications and ensures that all daily functions are performed accurately and within scheduled regulatory requirements. Coaches Home Equity team members on the loan process and maintaining queues. Receives first escalation of complex member situations and works to find a solution. Assess and provide feedback on training needs within the department. Provides training to the Home Equity team as necessary. Maintain processing pipeline (initial processing to funding). Act as back up to Home Equity Application and Closing Specialists. Primary contact for Home Equity and mortgage vendor relationships. Maintains accurate team time-off schedules and monitors attendance to ensure proper coverage. Responsible for reviewing and approving timecards. Monitor team compliance with credit union policies, recommending revisions to ensure they remain current and fit for purpose. Identify, evaluate, and recommend improvements to systems and daily operations to enhance efficiency and team productivity. Responsible for ensuring loan files comply with all state and federal regulations including, but not limited to, RESPA, HMDA, TRID, Fair Lending Practices and credit union policies and procedures. Meets all established loan production and service goals and complies with established PDCU member service standards. Ensure that we provide informed, professional, and accurate service and support to all members. Anticipate, understand, and educate based on the needs of members. Recognizes and defines system or procedure problems. Suggest, research, document, and implement process improvements with the approval of the Lending Management Team. Responsible for completing required training, and educational opportunities that contribute to the growth and advancement of the position and the credit union. Maintain and project the Credit Union's professional reputation. Maintain privacy of employee and member account information. Meets Service Standard Expectations. Must comply with and support all the credit union’s policies and procedures to maintain good standing with the Comprehensive Information Security Program, Employee Handbook, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Office of Foreign Asset Controls (OFAC), etc. Requirements Education: Associate’s degree, or combination of equivalent experience, education and/or training. Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience processing/closing/funding real estate loans in a financial institution required. Leadership experience preferred. Required Knowledge: Advanced working knowledge of home equity lending, specifically federal and state regulatory requirements are essential. Exceptional time management, attention to detail, customer service, and communication skills.
