Description

A Home Health Aide (HHA) Instructor is responsible for training and educating individuals to become certified Home Health Aides. They develop lesson plans, provide hands-on demonstrations, and ensure students acquire the necessary skills to provide quality home care to patients.

EDUCATION / WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

· Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) with an active license (requirements vary by state).
· Minimum of 3 years of experience in home healthcare, long-term care, or a related field.
· Prior experience as a home health aide instructor or clinical educator is preferred.
· Strong communication and teaching skills to effectively train students.
· Knowledge of state and federal guidelines for home health aide training programs.
· Ability to create lesson plans and manage classroom instruction.
· CPR and First Aid certification (preferred). High school diploma or equivalent. Some college preferred.
· Proficient written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
· Ability to interact with various personalities, learning abilities, and skill levels.

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour

Responsibilities

· Implement a comprehensive curriculum for home health aide training programs.
· Teach both theoretical and practical aspects of home healthcare, including patient hygiene, mobility assistance, nutrition, vital signs monitoring, and infection control.
· Conduct classroom instruction and laboratory training in accordance with state and federal regulations.
· Provide hands-on demonstrations and supervise students in lab settings.
· Evaluate student performance, progress, and competencies through assessments and exams.
· Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and completion of training.
· Guide and mentor students to help them prepare for certification exams and future employment.
· Stay up to date and ensure all training aligns with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in home healthcare.
· Work closely with other departments and administration to promote and facilitate the exchange of information across the Institution to support the needs of the students, faculty, community and the Institution
· Ensure a clean and safe environment, report any maintenance of safety concern to campus director.
· Follow any other duties as assigned.
