As a Home Health Care Aide, you will work closely with clients in their homes or assisted living facilities, ensuring they receive the care and attention they deserve.

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings is preferred
  • Compassionate and empathetic nature
  • Proficiency in providing Personal Care and assisting with Activities of Daily Living
  • Familiarity with patient care techniques and caregiving best practices
  • CPR/First Aid, Criminal record check and Adult/child abuse registry are mandatory
  • Relevant certifications or training in home health care is a plus
  • Ability to work effectively independently as well as as part of a team
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities or dementia care is a plus
  • Knowledge of hospice care principles is beneficial but not required
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations

ROLE DESCRIPTION

This is a part-time, on-site role located in Winnipeg, MB, for a Home Healthcare Aide. The Home Healthcare Aide will assist clients with activities of daily living, provide personal care, support patient care needs, and assist with home care tasks. This role requires compassion, dedication, and excellent communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist clients with personal care tasks including bathing, grooming, and dressing
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
  • Help with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition
  • Administer medication as prescribed by healthcare professionals
  • Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean living environment
  • Support clients with daily activities such as shopping, errands, and appointments
  • Document client progress and report any changes in health or behavior to healthcare providers
