JOB OVERVIEW:

Essex Home Help Service is a registered charity and we are seeking compassionate Home Helps in the area of Benfleet, Rayleigh, Hockley and all surrounding areas to provide essential support to elderly, vulnerable and carers of loved ones in Essex. As a Home Help, you will play a crucial role in assisting clients with various tasks to enhance their quality of life.
Our Home Help’s are allocated the same clients to visit at the same day and time every week, visits are a minimum of one hour and up to as many as the client requires and we can provide.

SKILLS:

• Ability to provide compassionate support to elderly and vulnerable individuals.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for traveling to clients’ homes.
• Empathy, patience, and understanding towards the needs of clients.

Essex Home Help Service was established to fill the gap left by the closure of Age UK Essex’ Home Help Service and is now a Registered Charity. Our mission is to provide dedicated support within clients’ homes without offering personal care. We are committed to enhancing the well-being of the elderly and vulnerable population in Essex through our services.

• Perform light housework duties to maintain a clean and organised living environment for clients.
• Assist with shopping tasks, ensuring that necessary items are purchased efficiently.
• Collect prescriptions as needed for clients’ health and well-being.
• Provide companionship and engage in meaningful interactions with clients.
• Offer sitting services to provide respite for family caregivers.
• Establish a consistent schedule to visit the same clients on designated days and times each week.
• Build strong relationships with clients, offering emotional support and companionship.
