As the Assistant Vice President, Senior Counsel in Home Lending Litigation you will work independently and with outside counsel to represent the Firm in litigation matters, as well as provide advice on a broad range of other matters and issues relating to Chase’s residential mortgage lending business. You will have independent contact with, and support, senior management in the Firm. Job Responsibilities: Managing actual and potential litigation matters Advising on litigation issues that impact various business functions, including loan origination, servicing and foreclosure Managing dispute resolution Interpreting existing laws, rules, and regulations and advising on changes thereto Advising on advocacy in connection with contemplated and proposed laws, rules, and regulations Providing legal advice to the business and functions Selecting, engaging, and managing outside counsel for the Firm on all matters in which outside counsel is engaged Required qualifications, capabilities and skills: A minimum of three to five of post-admission legal practicing experience Knowledge of, and experience with, complex litigation matters Ability to assume significant independent responsibility immediately Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to think strategically, write well and communicate effectively with both legal and non-legal professionals, including senior executives of the Firm Ability to build and maintain good client and colleague relationships Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills: Juris doctorate degree. Extensive litigation experience, with prior experience in financial services or Home Lending litigation being a plus Ability to manage a large volume of cases and balance competing priorities All candidates for roles in the Legal department must be licensed to practice law in the country of employment and successfully complete a conflicts of interest clearance review prior to commencement of employment.

Responsibilities

Manage actual and potential litigation matters and provide legal advice on various issues related to Chase’s residential mortgage lending business. Select, engage, and manage outside counsel for the Firm on all matters requiring external legal support.
