JOB TITLE: Jr. Home Loan Advisor
DEPARTMENT: Home Loan Internal Production
STATUS: Non – Exempt

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Jr. Home Loan Advisor (“JHLA”) is responsible for supporting the Buyer Advantage Program while assisting the Home Loan Advisor(s) (“HLA’s) with daily activities, business development, home loan lead generation and member experience. The JHLA may be the initial point of contact for a member referral and will be expected to communicate effectively to all parties involved in any home loan transaction including members, realtors, title companies and fulfillment staff. This role is responsible for assisting the HLA’s with pipeline management, appointments, database management and marketing efforts. Additionally, the JHLA will play an integral role in assisting the HLA’s in developing future originations and managing the Buyer Advantage Program leads.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • EDUCATION: Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience in administrative function or Home Loan Production or Operations.
  • EXPERIENCE: Two years or more years’ experience in Home Loan or Real Estate industry preferred.
  • KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: Maintain knowledge of FNMA guidelines, ATR guidelines, HMDA, Home Loan and Equity products, policies, procedures and turn time goals. Encompass LOS experience preferred but not required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged sitting throughout the workday with occasional mobility required including prolonged operation of a computer.
  • Corrected vision within the normal range.
  • Hearing within normal range. A device to enhance hearing will be provided if needed.
  • Ability to lift 20 lbs. may be required.
  • Occasional movements throughout the department daily to interact with staff, accomplish tasks, etc.

Responsibilities

TASKS, DUTIES, FUNCTIONS:

  • Facilitate the HLA assignment of home loan applications & referrals from the branch, MST, and digital channels.
  • Assist in the origination and completion of home loan applications.
  • Assist in answering inbound calls from all of our referring partners.
  • Perform daily pipeline management to ensure optimal member experience.
  • Coordinate with the Home Loan’s Fulfillment team to aid in the collection of personal financial documents from the members.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations related to credit union compliance, including; BSA, AML, TILA, GBL, RESPA, ECOA, Fair Lending and others that are appropriate to the position.
  • Coordinate with the Business Alliance Manager, Home Loan Production Management and HLA’s on the Buyer Advantage Program.
  • Assist HLA’s with the development of marketing materials and lead generating strategies.
  • Work with lending analyst on the creation and evolution of business reporting.
  • Attention to detail, systematic approach, creative problem solving and exemplary communication skills are necessary to assist the team’s efforts in servicing our members.
  • Act as liaison between HLA, HLP and any other party involved in the facilitation of the Home Loan Transaction.
  • Performs other jobs as may be assigned that may be moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems.

PHYSICAL SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXERTION UTILIZED IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THESE TASKS:

  • Effective oral and written communication skills required to interact with credit union staff, management and all member channels with the ability to constructively follow-up on member inquiries.
  • Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to skillfully operate an on-line computer terminal and other standard office equipment, such as financial calculators, personal computer, facsimile machine and telephone.
  • Effective technology and reporting skills are required to support origination activities.
  • Must have ability to learn and demonstrate Golden 1 Credit Union culture.
