Job Description Private Household in Fort St. John, B.C., Canada bertalabor888@hotmail.com • Provide care for and supervise an elderly client. • Assist with daily activities, including attending appointments, observing rest periods, and supporting meal routines as directed by the family. • Provide continuous support and perform routine household tasks for a senior with mobility limitations living independently. • Assist with personal care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and incontinence care. • Provide bedside care and assist with mobility, including transfers to and from a wheelchair and repositioning in bed and wheelchair to maintain comfort and prevent pressure injuries. • Prepare and serve nutritious meals; assist with feeding as required and perform post-meal clean-up. • Perform light housekeeping duties, including cleaning and laundering clothing and household linens related to the client’s care. • Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home. • Provide companionship and assist with physical and mental stimulation activities. • Perform grocery shopping and obtain essential supplies necessary for the senior’s care due to limited mobility. • Provide transportation assistance to medical appointments and essential errands as required. • Assist with medication reminders and ensure medications are taken as prescribed. • Maintain records of daily activities and health-related information as required. This position requires the caregiver to reside in the employer’s private residence to support the client’s daily care needs. Job Details Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Language: English (Filipino/Tagalog is an asset) Salary: $26.51 per hour Schedule 40 hours per week Night shifts may be required Overtime may be required and will be paid in accordance with provincial regulations Work Location: Employer’s private residence – Fort St. John, British Columbia, Canada Expected Start Date: As soon as possible Position available immediately Job Qualifications • Previous experience providing care for seniors or individuals with mobility limitations is an asset. • English language proficiency sufficient to communicate effectively and ensure client safety is required. • Knowledge of the Filipino language is considered an asset. • Completion of secondary school may be required. • Valid First Aid and CPR certification may be required. • Completion of a training program in elderly care, care for persons with disabilities, convalescent care, or a related field may be required. • Ability to perform light housekeeping and routine household duties related to client care. • Ability to safely assist with mobility, transfers, and repositioning of the client. • Must maintain a smoke-free and scent-free environment due to client health considerations. • Valid driver’s license may be required for transportation to medical appointments and essential errands. • Ability to work independently and responsibly. • Flexibility to work occasional evenings or overtime as required. • A clear criminal record check is required prior to employment. • Professional references or letters of recommendation attesting to relevant caregiving experience are required.
