Hours: Full-Time – 35 Hours a Week
Salary Range: $ 19.00 – 20.76

Home Visitation Supports
We deliver home visitation supports using a holistic approach designed to strengthen and enrich families with children prenatally – 6 years old. We support early childhood experiences aimed at fostering optimal child development and healthy parent-child attachment. Supports include parent education opportunities created with a focus of building on and enhancing the capacity of each family. The provision of information and referral are a key practice in supporting families to grow and learn within their community.
Required Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in Human Services or equivalent with one to three years of early childhood experience
  • Strong knowledge of early child development, parenting skills, and working with families
  • Strong knowledge of group facilitation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle
  • Current Criminal Record Check and Child Intervention Record Check (prior to starting employment with FSCA)
  • Experience in home visitation, group facilitation/adult education
  • Experience working with individuals from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds

Position Summary

The successful candidate is responsible for the following:

  • Providing support to children and families through regular home visits
  • Providing strategies that support healthy child development
  • Providing information and referrals to available resources in the community
  • Supporting the parent/caregiver as the child’s first and most important teacher
  • Focus on parent/caregiver strengths and capabilities in their approach
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of community resources for referral purposes
  • Compiling and entering necessary data and documentation while maintaining accurate, timely and complete electronic and paper files.
  • Collaborating with Agency team members and community partners to provide optimal programs and services
  • Planning, organizing and/or facilitating family education and family/child groups that reflect the needs and interest of participants
  • Requires a flexible work schedule that includes evenings to meet the needs of families
  • Must be capable of being in homes where there maybe animals, smoke, dust and other allergy inducing elements
