  • Make critical editorial and legal decisions regarding content, ensuring high quality and relevance.
  • Collaborate and build strong relationships with editors and producers across all verticals to meet referral targets.
  • Optimise homepage performance through A/B testing of images and headlines, continuously monitoring analytics to inform content strategy.
  • Plan and execute homepage strategies for major events like elections, the Oscars, and the Olympics.
  • Create engaging visual assets (images, story blocks, graphics) optimised for desktop and mobile.
  • Manage Google Showcase panels to maximise visibility and traffic.
  • Mentor junior digital producers and stay abreast of competitor activities and industry best practices.

What you’ll bring:

  • Extensive experience as a Digital Producer, homepage editor, or similar role in a fast-paced, high-volume digital newsroom.
  • Exceptional news judgment and the proven ability to make quick, sound editorial decisions under pressure.
  • A strong understanding of current affairs, global events, and popular culture, with the ability to distinguish between significant news and trending topics.
  • Thorough understanding of legal best practices in digital publishing, including defamation, copyright, and privacy laws.
  • Impeccable knowledge of the English language including grammar, syntax, and journalistic style, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proven experience in homepage editing and sophisticated content curation, with a focus on audience engagement and traffic.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Express (or similar) and expert-level command of various CMS and image editing tools.
  • Advanced experience with analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Chartbeat) and a data-driven approach.
