The Gobind Sarvar Edmonton invites applications for full-time (1.0 FTE) Kindergarten-Grade 6 Teachers. Teachers interested in collaboration, teamwork and culture building are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong 21st century teaching skills including designing and delivering project based learning that ensures high student engagement, critical thinking skills, inquiry, connections with real world problems and the use of technology as a learning tool.

Qualifications and Responsibilities:

  • Applicants are required to…have a Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate, a Bachelor of Education Degree or equivalent recognized by Alberta Education and an Understanding of different teaching methodologies and multiple intelligences Teach according to the educational needs abilities and achievement of the individual students and groups of students

Responsibilities

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • According to Alberta curriculum outcomes the teacher will develop a unit plan that includes topics such as logic, hypothesizing, and predicting answers.
  • He or she will also collaborate with teachers to develop a variety of inquiry and solution skills
  • Regular communication with the families to involve families in students’ learning
