JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a reliable and engaging Tutor to provide one-on-one support for a Grade 8 student. The main focus will be homework help across core subjects (Math, English, Science, Social Studies) and building strong study habits. The learner is autistic and would benefit from a tutor who has experience supporting neurodivergent students. The ideal candidate will be patient, flexible, and able to explain concepts in a clear and supportive way.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong knowledge of Grade 8 curriculum (Math, English, Science, Social Studies).
• Previous tutoring or teaching experience is an asset.
• Experience supporting autistic or neurodivergent learners is preferred.
• Patience, flexibility, and ability to adapt teaching style to student needs.
• Strong communication skills and a positive, encouraging approach.
• Reliable, punctual, and organized.
• Bachelors Degree is a minimum requirement.

• Provide academic support and homework help in Grade 8 subjects.
• Assist with organization, time management, and study skills.
• Break down assignments into manageable steps and encourage independent thinking.
• Create a positive, encouraging, and engaging learning environment.
• Adapt tutoring approach to meet the learner’s individual needs.
• Communicate progress and challenges with parents/guardians when needed.
