Hone Operator: · Sets up and operates all precision honing equipment with the exception of the super hone for production, experimental, and tool work. · Selects proper speeds, feeds and stones. Holds work to required tolerances. · Set-ups are exacting usually requiring firm and accurately set fixtures, rests or blocks. · Works from blueprints or specific written or verbal instructions and is required to check work to required tolerances. · Determines correct procedures to follow, devises methods of honing non-routine parts or assemblies, and makes effective recommendations for improvements in procedures and practices. Skills you bring to this role · All types of hones, machinists’ hand tools, precision measuring instruments, tooling fixtures, templates, jibs, work aids, gauges, and a variety of layout and setup equipment. What you need to be successful · Two (2) years of precision (tolerances less than .0005) manufacturing machine shop honing or grinding experience including setup. This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR.
