QUALIFICATIONS

• A Level 6 qualification, (as recognised on the National Framework of Qualifications or equivalent), in horticulture or a related discipline.
• 1 years’ work experience in a relevant horticultural area.
• A Level 7 qualification in horticulture would be a distinct advantage.
• 2-3 years’ work experience in the horticultural education sector.

SKILLS

• Plant Identification.
• Plant Propagation and husbandry skills.
• IT and computer skills.
• Horticultural machinery skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Record keeping ability.
• Motivational and mentoring skills.
• Supervisory skills.
• Previous record of accomplishment in training
• Market gardening, food production skills.

KNOWLEDGE

• Horticultural operations.
• Plant identification and use.
• Practical knowledge of Horticulture.
• Health and safety requirements.
• Online media and Blended learning e.g. Moodle etc
• Knowledge of Teagasc courses.
