INTERNAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY POSTING DATE: February 20, 2026 CLOSING DATE: February 27, 2026 JOB TITLE: Horticulturist DEPARTMENT: Public Works STATUS: Seasonal RATE OF PAY: $34.49 per hour DUTIES Under the general supervision of the Foreperson, the Horticulturist is responsible for maintenance, construction and/or repair work to parks and open spaces placed under the jurisdiction of the Department of Infrastructure and Public Works and its operations. QUALIFICATIONS Considerable experience in performing the variety of Horticulturist work found within a municipal environment; supplemented by a diploma in Horticultural, Arboriculture, Forestry or related from a post-secondary institute; or sufficient qualifications as determined by assessment.

Responsibilities

The Horticulturist is responsible for maintenance, construction, and/or repair work related to parks and open spaces under the jurisdiction of the Department of Infrastructure and Public Works.
