Hospice of the Piedmont is seeking a Hospice CNA to join our stellar team of compassionate healthcare professionals. This position primarily covers Nelson County. Our office hours are Monday-Friday 8:30-5:00. In this role you will provide a wide range of responsibilities to ensure the well-being and comfort of patients. Key duties include: · Personal Care: Assisting with hygiene, toileting, mobility, medication, and meal preparation. · Health Monitoring: Measuring and recording fluid intake/output, and reporting changes to the nurse supervisor. · Documentation: Maintaining electronic medical records (EMR) and documenting services provided. · Housekeeping: Performing light housekeeping duties in the patient area. · Patient Environment: Maintain a clean, safe, and pleasant environment while following infection control principles. · Emergency Procedures: Recognizing and responding to emergencies. · Professional Development: Maintaining competency and registration. Essential Skills for Success: · Self-motivation · Time management · Ability to build trust and rapport with patients and families · Ability to function in stressful situations · Basic computer skills Qualifications: · Registered by the Virginia Department of Health Professions as a Certified Nursing Assistant · One year of relevant experience required · Hospice experience, preferred · Driver’s license, personal automobile, and current automobile liability insurance Typical Physical Demands/Working Conditions: · Regular use of hands, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, and hearing. Frequent standing, sitting, climbing, and balancing.
