ABOUT US:

At East Cheshire Hospice, we provide compassionate, patient-centred care to individuals with life-limiting conditions. Our team is dedicated to ensuring dignity, comfort and quality of life for both patients and their families. We are currently looking for caring and committed Healthcare Assistants to provide support to patients and their families within our inpatient unit and in their own homes throughout the East Cheshire region.
We take the time to see beyond the patient’s condition, to provide holistic care to the whole person, and their loved ones. Our essential and well supported teams work closely with partners in the NHS, as well as other charities, to complement existing local services within our community.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

We are seeking compassionate individuals who are committed to providing high-quality car. Ideal candidates will have:

  • Experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in palliative or end-of-life care.
  • A caring and empathetic nature.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and nights.
  • An NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (desirable but not essential, training will be provided).
Responsibilities

As a healthcare assistant, you will provide essential care and support to patients, working closely with nurses and other healthcare professionals. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting patients with personal care, including bathing, dressing and toileting.
  • Supporting patients with mobility and ensuring comfort.
  • Providing companionship and emotional support to patients and their families.
  • Assisting with feeding and hydration as needed.
  • Monitoring patients’ conditions and reporting any changes to nursing staff.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene within the hospice environment.
