Position Summary: The Intake Specialist is one of the first lines of contact for patient referrals to hospice. As such, this person must understand the basics of the Medicare Hospice Benefit and be able to communicate this clearly and patiently to families, caregivers, and other referral sources. The Intake Specialist coordinates multiple schedules via text messaging, phone calls and/or email and arranges changes to scheduling as they occur. Accurate maintenance of the electronic health record is a fundamental aspect of this position.
