Description About the Role At Corus Hospice, you join a team shaped by five generations of care — where trust, collaboration, and purpose guide the work. Our mission is simple and deeply human: to bring out the courage in others. As our Volunteer Coordinator, you will lead a meaningful program that connects volunteers with patients and families during some of life’s most important moments. Your work helps ensure every patient feels supported, seen, and surrounded by compassionate community care. Key Responsibilities • Lead and manage all aspects of the hospice volunteer program — recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, coaching, and recognition • Match volunteers with patients and families based on needs, skills, and preferences • Facilitate volunteer orientation, ongoing training, and continuing education • Document volunteer activity and maintain compliance with hospice regulatory standards • Partner closely with the interdisciplinary team to integrate volunteer support into patient care plans • Build strong community relationships to expand awareness and engagement • Host volunteer meetings, appreciation events, and opportunities for connection • Provide reports, updates, and insights to agency leadership on program outcomes • Use organizational systems (EMR, documentation platforms) to track activity accurately Requirements What We’re Looking For • Prior experience in volunteer coordination, community outreach, or program development (preferred) • Exceptional empathy, communication skills, and relationship-building ability • Strong organization and follow-through — able to coordinate many moving parts with clarity and calm • Understanding of the emotional, cultural, and spiritual dimensions of hospice care • Comfort working independently while staying connected to a supportive team • Ability to use technology for documentation and volunteer management • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance Why Join Us Working in hospice is more than a job — it is a calling. At Corus Hospice, you will: • Be part of a mission-driven team centered around courage, compassion, and dignity • Experience a culture known for warmth, collaboration, and genuine human connection • See the impact of your work every day as volunteers support patients and families in meaningful ways • Grow in your career with leadership support, training, and professional development pathways • Receive a competitive benefits package and the stability of an established, values-driven healthcare organization Here, your ability to bring people together becomes a gift to families navigating tender moments.
